What are your favorite things to do in Denver?
Where to begin?! We enjoy visiting the many museums in Denver, the rides at Elitch Gardens, the Denver Zoo, the Butterfly Pavilion, or taking a tour at Hammond’s Candies. Some of our favorite restaurants include Snooze, D Bar, Steuben’s, Pasquini’s, Beau Jo’s Pizza, and Hacienda Colorado. The mountains are amazing with endless hiking, skiing, and mountain town charm. Some of our favorite towns include Estes Park, Breckenridge, and Vail. I plan to begin a new series on this blog about things to do in Denver, so keep a lookout!
How did you meet your husband?
We met in the 7th grade when he was an adorable blond boy that stood about a half a foot shorter than me. Ha! After middle school, we both attended Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado from 1998 to 2002, where our friends and I experienced tragedy and grew closer and stronger because of it. Casey and I began dating as seniors, and then together went to Brigham Young University for college. Not to forget those short (long) two years when Casey served a mission for our church in Las Vegas and I patiently “waited but dated.” 😉 We were best friends before his mission, and best friends after, and I am so grateful we get to spend forever together. I have journals and letters FULL of memories; I hope to one day put them together and write down our story.
What kind of camera/lenses do you use?
I mainly shoot with a Nikon d700 and d750, a Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, and a Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lens.
What do you use to edit your photos?
I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CS6. On my phone, I use the VSCO cam app and the Filmborn app to edit.
Where do you shop for clothes?
Most often I shop at Nordstrom, H&M, ASOS, Zara, Francesca’s, Anthropologie, and Target. For my kids, I shop at Baby Gap, Old Navy, Target, and Zara.
How do you overcome challenges?
Everyone has their own unique challenges. Life is difficult, but through each trial – big and small – I have found that I would not be able to endure them well without my faith in Jesus Christ.
